Who we are
This site’s web address is https://www.alfredwurr.com. Its servers are located in Canada. It is owned and operated by Alfred Wurr.
What personal data we collect and why we collect it
Like many other Web sites, alfredwurr.com records requests for web pages and related resources in web server log files. The information inside the log files includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, type of browser, Internet Service Provider (ISP), date/time stamp, referring/exit pages, number of clicks, and more to analyze trends, administer the site, track user’s movement around the site, and gather demographic information, and additional details. IP addresses, and other such information are not linked to any information that is personally identifiable. We may also record additional request details in our logs that have been submitted in our forms for debugging and security/auditing purposes.
We log these details to monitor and detect potentially malicious activity, gain insight into the browser-types and device types being used to access our site in order to optimize and improve our site and its performance. We also use it to get an idea of where visitors to our site are located in the world to better understand who our customers are to improve our business. IP addresses can be used to identify your general location, such as the city in which you reside and your Internet Service Provider (ISP). However, this does not allow us to identify your address or street or your name. It may be possible that law enforcement officials could use your IP address to identify your billing address by compelling your ISP to provide it, but we have no authority to do so, nor will we seek to do so except for IP addresses that our logging shows may have been used in a malicious, damaging, or criminal manner.
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

This email address will not be shared, sold, or given to others outside of alfredwurr.com authorized representatives unless required by law, nor will it be used for any other purpose, unless you grant permission in another way, such as by subscribing to our newsletter or other email lists.
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
We may do analysis on our log files to monitor traffic levels, where people go on the site, visitor’s city, language preference, browser, device, and so on, based on the information contained in HTTP requests issued to our servers.
Who we share your data with
Newsletter subscriptions are handled by Mailchimp.com, and entered information is sent and stored on their servers on our behalf for review and use by alfredwurr.com representatives.
We will also share data with law enforcement agencies as required by law or to protect ourselves and our interests.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
Information in our log files and databases are stored on encrypted disks (i.e. data is encrypted at rest). These files, databases, and back ups of the files and databases are retained as long as is deemed necessary and feasible to ensure the continued optimal operation of our site and services and to ensure that mission critical data is not lost due to mechanical failure, malfeasance, or other calamity.
When backed up data is deemed to be no longer necessary, it is deleted and the disk space reused, overwriting any recoverable data over time. When our own servers’s storage devices are retired from use, they are physically damaged/destroyed to ensure no one can access the encrypted data they contain.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where we send your data
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
